Can you believe that the total value of two ponchos can be equivalent to month salary of a base worker in those countries?
Secondly, we dedicate 100% of our net profit to support exciting projects in Brazil and Australia. Which includes:
The reality where I come from in Brazil is heart breaking with pure devastation of the nature due to the agricultural expansion. The overexploitation of the land is embedded in people’s mind as the only way to generate economy. For decades they have been destroying the native flora of the countryside where Gaio Santos grew up in order to crop banana and GMO eucalypt trees. Everyone, from the big landowners to the smallest rural producers believe there is no other way to make their living. As a result, crystalline water springs are drying up, breath taking landscapes are disappearing, exotic species of animals are being extinguished…
But there is hope. And We need your help.
To change this, we need to strengthen local communities and convince them of the benefits of ecotourism as an alternative to their economic development. How do we do this?
a) First, we buy degraded lands in strategic locations, where there is potential for community growth. We usually chose heritage pasture lands where locals have organically built their houses and are a few steps away from becoming small village.
b) We create basic infrastructure in those places to accommodate community circles, composed by locals and volunteers that share our vision. This includes domes where people can sit in a circle to dialogue and celebrate life, encouraging the common good with respect for one another and for the land.
c) We use those spaces to promote community gatherings for collective expansion of awareness, supported by Shamans and the use of indigenous plant medicines such as Ayahuasca**. People naturally become more mindful of the impact of their actions to the surrounding environment and are guided to ac in unity towards a common purpose – preserve the land for their future generations and build a sanctuary for the broader community.
d) Once more structure is created by the locals and the land start giving the first signals of recovery, it is time to open for the public by inaugurating a sanctuary/retreat centre. This is when our clients can be directed benefited from what the new reality that they helped to create. They will be able to immerse themselves in the community and get the healing benefits of experiencing an exuberant nature with its powerful plant medicines.
The plan may sound simple, but it requires resources to be executed. This why we need your support.
Does that seem too hard to accomplish for you? So take a look at this pilot project in Australia that we used to allocate part of our profits to. Gaio Santos has had the opportunity to be part of it since its very early stages, actively engaged in its execution.
The sanctuary was situated in Karridale, Western Australia. When it was purchased in 2016, it was a 37 acres pastured land with only a few stands of trees. With the help of volunteers, we built some veggie gardens, a grey water system for the house, a chicken coup, compost toilets, and the Barn space – a communal for deep connections.
The plans for the land were to regenerate it back to some extent of its former glory, with stands of forest and super productive soils full of fungi and bacteria. At the same time, creating beautiful spaces for everyone to enjoy, including the volunteers and the broader community. That included a working farm, a garden of sacred plants, a healing and retreat center, water catchment and dams, adult/children’s playgrounds, knowledge center for talks and discussions, library, movie theatre, sound recording studio, podcasting center and much more.
Almost everything listed in the plan above was accomplished, including a communal Barn with a stage for musicians to express and a Dome Yoga Shalla space for all sorts of activities from yoga, breath work, dance, silks, trapeze, aerials, martial arts, etc. Everyone had the freedom to run workshops, group activities, and outdoor events in those spaces.
The sanctuary encouraged everyone’s free expression through singing, dancing, artistic creations, playing music, beautifying spaces, creating spaces, construction, gardening, farming… providing a space for that uniqueness is essential in this world. The sanctuary has become a place to transform human consciousness, for celebration of life, for healing and guiding humans’ evolution and our society into new paradigms that support a better human experience.
In 2023 the sanctuary had close its doors for the wider public to non-compliance with local regulations. This was very unfortunate and we had to move away from sponsoring their activities. Even though the Sanctuary doesn’t operate anymore, we have learnt a lot from that experience and we continue cooperating with other communities across the south west region of Western Australia in a more informal basis.

** The Ayahuasca medicine is a legal substance widely utilised in South America for therapeutical purposes. It is a traditional indigenous tea that is usually taken within religious ceremonies nowadays. Its benefits are known worldwide, and United States hold congresses every year for scientist discuss topics on the medicine. In Brazil, this medicine has been used in detention centres aiming to help in the reintegration of prisoners to the society.
